Rain’s fans make a donation to celebrate his 11th anniversary

Celebrating Rain’s 11th anniversary since his debut, the star’s fanclubs from all over the world donated a large sum to support children.

On April 30th, UNICEF Korea announced that Rain’s fan club Clouds donated a total of 11,370,000 KRW to UNICEF to support children. The donation not only came from the fans in Korea, but from all around the world under the name of ‘Rain Fans United.’

The association of Rain’s fan clubs said, “We would like to make this donation to share the struggles that many children are still having at all over the world.”

Rain’s debut date is April 28th, and April 25th also happens to be ‘World Day of Eradication of Malaria’, the fan club hoped that the donations will be used for buying clean water, medicines for malaria and mosquito nets.

Heechul to rejoin Super Junior after military service

Heechul will soon be returning to fans as Super Junior member again!

An acquaintance of Heechul said on April 29th, “Heechul shows great desire to join Super Junior again as soon as he returns from the army on August 31st. He’s preparing to stand on stage on Super Junior’s world tour ‘Super Show 5’ when he’s discharged.”

The same individual continued, “There’s four months left of his military service and for the remaining period he will personally practice the different choreographies during the evenings and weekends.”

Meanwhile, Heechul will be the second Super Junior member to successfully return from the army after Kangin. Currently, Leeteuk is in the military and Yesung will enter on May 6.

San E cancels contract with JYP Entertainment

Rapper San E has decided to leave his agency JYP Entertainment.

San E recently wrote on his fancafe, “I think I’ll cancel my contract with JYP Entertainment soon. It’s not that there’s any bad news or anything like that. It’s kind of long to tell the story from the beginning. Anyway, the conclusion is that I’m going to officially leave.”

He continued, “The most important thing is that there is absolutely no problem, and we all are on good terms. However, it doesn’t mean I’m quitting music. I’ll show another side of San E so please don’t be sad and just be happy.”

JYP Entertainment confirmed the news and stated, “His contract will be over during the week. We ended on good terms and had a lot of conversations with him. For his music promotions, we’ve decided not to end his contract but to cancel it.”

San E debuted under JYP Entertainment in 2010 and released his album ‘Everybody Ready?’.

Big Bang’s Taeyang becomes new model for ‘Japan Street Dance Association’

Big Bang’s charismatic Taeyang has been chosen as visual artist character image of ‘Japan Street Dance Association’

In the middle of April, Taeyang shoot advertising for Japanese Street Dance Association (JSDA) and showcased his dancing skills. JSDA believed that Taeyang showed such a great performance at world tour in 2012 so they chose him as their advertising model.

Taeyang shared “I’m happy, I’m very happy! I want to inspire people with my music and dance. I hope my dance reaches out to a lot of people.”

The new CF will grace the large screens in the neighborhood near Shibuya Station in Tokyo, Nagoya Station in Nagoya and at Osaka Shinsiahbashi starting from May 13th.

Shinhwa releases teaser image for upcoming 11th album

Legendary group Shinhwa, who’s celebrating their 15th anniversary in the industry, is gearing up to release their 11th album this May. Counting down to their anticipated return, the boys unveiled its first image teaser!

On May 1, Shinhwa Company posted a new teaser image through official Twitter account. Titled ‘XI The Classic’, the upcoming 11th album is set to be released in May 16, 2013. The album was initially scheduled for a March release, but it has been delayed for May for an upgraded appearance and music.

2NE1’s Minzy participates in a volunteer work with Sean

2NE1’s Minzy spent a meaningful time participating in a volunteer work at a social welfare childcare program.

On April 30, Sean tweeted, “Minzy became a gift today to Holt’s tiny angels. Already welcoming her as family, our little ones took her by the hand and dragged her everywhere, calling it a date. I hope all children grow up receiving love from their families.”

In the photo is Minzy at Holt Childcare Organization, an international adoption agency based in South Korea that appointed Sean and his wife and actress Jung Hye Young as representatives back in 2007. She looks like any other volunteer, wearing casual clothes and glasses.

INFINITE’s L to simultaneously release photo essay in Korea and Japan

INFINITE’s L’s very own photo essay book titled, “L’s Bravo Viewtiful” will be simultaneously released in Korea and Japan later this month.

“L’s Bravo Viewtiful” is a book composed of photos and essays that L took for 93 days, and it will show his daily life and emotions in the most vivid ways. The photos will highlight L’s life as Kim Myung Soo and not necessarily as L as the INFINITE member.

The Japanese edition of the photo essay book will be distributed by Japanese media group PIA from May 15 and INFINITE’s L plans to hold a signing event in Tokyo in early June.

Which member has the worst butt in INFINITE?

INFINITE’s Sunggyu was selected as a member with the worst butt.

On a recent filming for MBC Every1’s ‘Weekly Idol’ which to be aired on May 1, INFINITE conducted a ‘butt ranking’. Dongwoo, whom the others said touches the members’ butts often, acted as the judge on the show.

He chose the leader Sunggyu as the member with the worst butt, explaining his hips are “too pointy.” Dongwoo said, “It hurts when Sunggyu sits on my lap”, making Sunggyu bow his head in embarrassment.

She then surprised the viewer by revealing that she was asked out by a comedian when she was in middle school. When the MCs asked for a hint about the comedian, Kang Min Kyung shared, “I can’t give you any hint because he is so famous.”

B2ST’s Junhyung’s romantic kiss scene was revealed.

On April 30th, preview still cuts from Mnet ‘Monstar’ were revealed, showing Yong Junhyung wearing a high school uniform and giving a sweet kiss to a female student in the classroom.

A member of the production crew said, “This opening scene is among one of the important scenes. Please make sure to check out the broadcast to understand why Junhyung does this kiss. The shooting was held for six hours, and even though Junhyung looked a bit nervous at first, he showed a great focus as the camera went on.”

The first episode is set to air on May 17.

SECRET tops real-time music charts with “YooHoo”

Girl group SECRET is off to a good start with their comeback title song “YooHoo” enjoying success on various music charts.

According to TS Entertainment, SECRET’s “YooHoo” grabbed the #1 spot of various real-time music charts including Mnet, Bugs, Olleh, Naver, Daum and Soribada. In addition, other tracks from their fourth mini album, ‘Letter From SECRET’ ranked high on the charts as well.

SECRET’s title song “YooHoo” was produced by Kang Ji Won and Kim Gi Bum duo who created the group’s past hits like “Magic”, “Madonna” and “Starlight Moonlight”. The group will have their first comeback stage on Mnet’s ‘M! Countdown’ on May 2nd.

B1A4 reveals album tracklist for ‘What’s Going On?’

B1A4 will be returning with a new album this May and after unveiling their individual teaser images, the group has now released the full tracklist for 4th mini-album ‘What’s Going On?’.

WM Entertainment updated B1A4’s official website with releases schedules and album tracklist. According to the post, the group will release the full music video on May 6 followed by album’s offline release ont he 7th.

B2ST and BTOB release “Bye Bye Love” for ‘Man In Love’ OST

Cube Entertainment’s male groups B2ST and BTOB have teamed up for a soundtrack single for the MBC drama series, ‘Man In Love’.

On May 1, the two groups released their latest single titled, “Bye Bye Love” for the drama’s OST Part 4. The song is a ballad number in medium tempo with acoustic guitar sounds and piano melody mixed with strong beats.

“Bye Bye Love” was composed of Oh Jun Sung, known for producing Korean drama OST and composer. The song is about Song Seung Hun and Shin Se Kyung, and their story about love and break ups.

On the 28th of April, C-Jes Entertainment revealed some photos of Kim Jaejoong during his vacation in Japan and garner attention as the photos were taken in a helicopter. Kim Soo Ro suffers a shoulder injury

Actor Kim Soo Ro alerted his fans about a shoulder injury.

The actor posted up via Twitter on the 29th, “A shoulder ligament was overstretched so I’m told that I can’t do anything for 4-6 weeks. I’m a little worried when it’ll get better!”

The injury was caused by a recent filming for the MBC TV program ‘Real Men’, where he was required to receive real army training with the other cast members. As soon as he hurt himself, he received immediate treatment before finishing the filming of the rest of the episode.

Jang Dong Gun confirms big screen return with ‘The Crying Man’

Actor Jang Dong Gun has confirmed his return on the big screen through upcoming film ‘The Crying Man’. He will work with director Lee Jeong Bum, well known from his previous work with Won Bin in ‘The Man from Nowhere’.

A representative from SM C&C stated on April 29th, “Jang Dong Gun has accepted the offer to star in ‘The Crying Man’ which will be directed by Lee Jeong Bum.”

The movie shows love between a killer and a woman. Jang Dong Gun has been picked to play the role of the killer and some action is to be expected in this thriller mixed with romance.

The production company will finalize the cast soon and begin filming in September.

Hyun Bin to return as a king in upcoming movie

Actor Hyun Bin will be making his comeback on the big screen in his first work since completing military service as a naval officer in December.

Hyun Bin who has participated in many series such as ‘My name is Kim Sam soon’ and ‘Secret Garden’, has been cast in the upcoming history movie titled, ‘The Anger of King’. He will play the charismatic King Jungjo, the 22nd ruler of the Joseon dynasty.

The life of King Jungjo has been played out through numerous dramas and films in the past, but Hyun Bin’s new film will be approaching it from an entirely different angle, by portraying Jeongjo as a strong and authoritative king.

A representative from movie production stated, “As Hyun Bin chose this piece as his first comeback project, and it is a period film, it is expected that he will further expand his acting career in the future.”

‘The Anger of King’ is scheduled for release in the first half of 2014.

Psy’s “Gentleman” music video sets Guinness World record

Proving that “Gangnam Style” was far from a one-hit-wonder, Psy has secured another Guinness World Records title with his follow-up single, “Gentleman”!

According to the Guinness website, Psy’s “Gentleman” music video has set a Guinness World record as the most-watched online video in a single day. The new music video received 38,409,306 views on YouTube within its first 24 hours on April 14th 2013.

Since being released almost two weeks ago, “Gentleman” has racked up more than 248 million views compared with “Gangnam Style,” which now has been played a staggering 1.5 billion times. This is Psy’s second world record, the first being for the most “liked” video on Youtube with “Gangnam Style”.

Singer Ivy threw the ceremonial pitch at a baseball game between LG Twins and Lotte Giants in Seoul on April 28th. Sporting a LG Twins uniform and casual jeans, the singer greeted the numerous fans who attended the game on this day.

On April 29th, a representative from WS Entertainment announced, “Baek Ji Young and Jung Seok Won will be tying the knot in June 2. They haven’t decided on the location yet.” The date was decided by the couple’s family in a meeting together.

Baek Ji Young and Jung Suk Won went public with its relationship in 2011, and began to have serious discussions about marriage earlier this year. After the recent rumors of their breakup, they came to open up about the upcoming wedding.

Scooter Braun expresses confidence in “Gentleman” success

Psy’s American manager, Scooter Braun expressed his confidence that “Gentleman” will become a hit.

On April 26th, MTV revealed an interview video of Scooter Braun, who is directing Psy’s global management. Scooter said, “People love to watch that guy dance. He entertains people and I think ‘Gentleman’ has the same amount of potential as ‘Gangnam Style’.”

He continued, “‘Gentleman’ received the highest number of views in one day, and it went number one in 52 countries! It was also ranked 5th in Billboard HOT 100 so it’s kind of mind-blowing for us.”

“And I think he’s coming to the States end of this week to start performing it on TV, and around the world. And he represents having a good time, so good for him.”

SHINee’s third album tops Asian iTunes charts

SHINee displayed their great influence across Asia.

The group recently released the second part to their third album, ‘Why So Serious? – The Misconceptions of Me’. In addition to sweeping local music charts, the group’s new album made it to the top spot of the iTunes charts in Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Also, the album ranked second in Singaporean, fifth on the Indonesian, and seventh on the Malaysian charts. It also charted 65th on the American chart and 53rd on the Canadian chart, further proving the group’s global popularity.

Meanwhile, SHINee promoting as four members for the time being as Jonghyun who recently underwent surgery to fix his fractured nose, will be sitting out on album promotions.
